Mrs. Bolling

Susan and her parents

She was a classy lady
Impeccably dressed
Her makeup and hair
Were never a mess

You could smell her arrival
From across a room
Super Estee
Was her favorite perfume

Intelligent and witty
And somewhat reserved
Endured tragic heartbreak
Not what she deserved

Still strong and resilient
She commanded respect
Left a lasting impression
I will never forget

She could say a lot
With just a quick look
From over her glasses
While reading a book

I spent many a day
And night at her house
And in the back of her Volvo
While driving to town

Her daughter and I
Always in tow
Fond memories now
Of days long ago

Life goes by so quickly
We blink and it’s gone
But I will always remember
My friend Susan’s mom
